The Dutch and Swede Touch: Sander Van Doorn and John Dahlbäck
Richie Adomako / September 28, 2009
Made Event presented Dutch DJ sensation Sander Van Doorn and Sweden’s John Dahlbäck at Pacha Friday, September 18. Filling the room with talent called for quite an audience – met with the showmanship of the DJs who pumped some massive sounds and beats to the crowd’s excitement.
Notorious in Ibiza and London, Sander Van Doorn blew fans away with his typical style of combining elements of trance, electro, techno and house. With an extensive background in making remixes and producing award winning tracks, Sander has a cavalier taste in music. Every track he threw on sent the audience into frenzy – more apparent when he threw on La Roux’s, “Going in For the Kill”. The young John Dahlbäck came in for the kill with massive house beats. Getting his start with his dad’s Atari, the young DJ in his twenties edges closer to his hundredth track – pumping them out under the moniker of Hugg & Pepp and his label Pickadoll Records.
The talent brought some life to an expanding New York scene. The packed room at Pacha proved that the electronic music scene is alive and strumming to noise of flashing lights, fumes with dropping beats from eager talent willing to showcase their hand at the mixer to wide variety of an audience across.
The DJ’s gave us a nice taste of the Pacha cherries that evening and we look forward to seeing what they have coming in the future.
