On Friday, Chromeo packed not one, but two venues in a single night, with a live performance at Irving Plaza followed by a DJ set at Webster Hall.

The sold-out Irving Plaza crowd was chanting Chromeo’s intro long before they took the stage at 10:50. Chromeo played Fancy Footwork in its entirety, along with DJ Mehdi’s “I Am Somebody” and their new single, “Night by Night”. For the encore, Chromeo played “Momma’s Boy” (definitely a crowd favorite), their cover of The Eagles’ “Don’t Tell Me Why” off the recently-released DJ-Kicks compilation, and their favorite Fancy Footwork song, “100%”.
After a quick costume change, the duo headed to Webster Hall for round 2. The Fool’s Gold family, including A-Trak, Armand Van Helden and Sammy Bananas, came out to party and show their support. Highlights of the set included Chromeo’s own “Momma’s Boy” and “Fancy Footwork”, A-Trak’s remix of “Heads Will Roll” by the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, and “aNYway” by Duck Sauce. They capped things off with Skream’s remix of “Night by Night”.
Kingdom, another member of the Fool’s Gold family, took over the decks for a solid closing set. Girls & Boys resident rekLes set-up his X-Box on Webster Hall’s nine giant screens for an entertaining alternative to the usual shenanigans.
Don’t miss Chromeo at the Green Label Sound Bowl Party during CMJ. Fool’s Gold is also getting in on the CMJ action, celebrating their one-year anniversary with events at 88 Palace on Wednesday and N8 on Thursday.
