For the second year in a row, HARD is bringing their night of electronic music mayhem to New York with Digitalism, Caspa, Switch, Designer Drugs and Destructo on Saturday, August 20th at Terminal 5. Each with their own brand of heavy bass drops and digital wobble, this will be an amazing way to hear what music some of the best dub-step and eletro DJs are currently producing.

Last Sunday, The Bloody Beetroots rocked The Palladium in Los Angeles for Hard’s second consecutive night. Led by Bobby Rifo on guitar, bass and keys, the duo-turned-trio (re-dubbed “The Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77″) delivered nearly an hour an a half of hard-hitting electro infused with punk rock and heavy metal. Tommy Tea manipulated the live tunes through his set of mixers, while the band’s newest member, Edward Grinch, kept time on the drums. Dim Mak founder Steve Aoki made a few cameos throughout their set. Sinden, Designer Drugs, Jokers of the Scene and Destructo also performed.
Don’t miss Sinden this Saturday when he joins the Trouble & Bass Crew and Zombies for Money at Santos Party House. CLICK HERE to RSVP for reduced admission. Hard will return to New York twice this summer, first with headliner M.I.A. in July, then again in August for the first-ever Hard tour, headlined by Crystal Castles. Tickets and info HERE.

We just got wind of a couple more parties you might want to check out this week…
Our friends at MeanRed are taking over 88 Palace this week with their Shanghai’d event series. Tonight is the Fool’s Showcase, featuring Kingdom and Sammy Bananas, with live performances by Vega and Donnis. Fool’s Gold founders A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs will be around to host the festivities. On Thursday, the Noise Problem Showcase features Designer Drugs, Lauren Flax, and NROTB; on Friday, Adam Tensta, VDRK and Free Magic are on the roster for MeanRed’s own showcase. As an added bonus, they’ll be passing around dim sum dishes throughout each night. Click here for the full line-ups and to RSVP.
If you’re looking for some daytime action on Saturday, Levi’s and The Fader have you covered. With continuous music from 2-10 PM, The Ace Hotel is the place to be on Saturday. We’re particularly looking forward to Chauffeur’s performance, which will feature Mark Ronson, Theophilus London and Sam Sparrow. Flashing Lights founders Nick Catchdubs and Jubilee will also be spinning at the event. Click here to RSVP.

Last night we checked out Designer Drugs DJ at Webster Hall. While the party was not nearly as happening as last week’s with Dave 1, they spun a strong set and are definitely worth checking out – we even noticed A-Trak watching quietly from the audience.
